Laurel Anderson is one part planner, one
part designer, and one part co-conspirator.
Laurel loves nothing more than designing unforgettable experiences, full of clever details and personal stories. To create flawlessly chic and fun weddings, Laurel specializes not only in creating all these special details, but also in how they’re brought together into one cohesive experience. It’s as much an art as a science, demanding both creative flourish and execution know-how. This ability to thrive on both a micro and macro level is Laurel’s unique strength—resulting in both peace of mind and remarkable weddings for her clients.
Laurel grew up in Colorado. Living in such a beautiful area with a family that was always running around outdoors nurtured two of her most notable traits: being firmly grounded with a strong sense of possibility. She was always tinkering and making things, and even wrote her college application essay on the trials and errors of Martha Stewart kit cake-making. After earning dual degrees at Stanford in International Relations and Cultural Psychology, Laurel jumped into an whirlwind career in business and branding consulting at Stone Yamashita Partners. Here she helped create visions for Fortune 500 companies and the strategies needed to get there. She also built her design skills. SYP partners designers with strategists and, throughout the years, Laurel deepened her love of design and all things clever. It got to the point where she didn’t want to be a strategist any longer. But she didn’t want to be a designer either. She wanted to be both.
After having the chance to plan her first big wedding – her own – she realized that personal event planning and design was the perfect match for her range of passions. It took her 27 years to realize, but when the realization hit, it hit hard. She left her job – at that point brand consulting in New York City – and jumped into creating her own wedding planning and design company that specializes in developing fresh, fun, chic and modern ideas for weddings in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Laurel lives in sunny Noe Valley with her wonderful husband, Nic.
